Slippery Elm 100g
Gentle Digestive and Throat-Soothing Plant Fibre.Soothing Relief for Digestion and Throat Comfort
Slippery Elm Bark Powder is a finely ground powder made from the inner bark of the slippery elm tree. When mixed with water, it forms a soothing gel-like substance that coats and comforts the digestive tract and throat.
Traditionally used for centuries, slippery elm is valued for its gentle, calming effect on irritated tissues and is commonly taken to support digestive comfort and soothe sore throats.
Benefits
- Soothes and coats the digestive tract
- Supports comfort during heartburn and reflux
- Helps calm gut irritation and digestive discomfort
- Provides soothing relief for sore or irritated throats
- Gentle, non-stimulant, and well tolerated
How It Works
Slippery elm is rich in mucilage — a type of soluble fibre that forms a slippery gel when mixed with liquid. This gel coats the lining of the stomach, intestines, and throat, helping to protect irritated tissues and promote comfort.
Suggested Use
For Digestive Support mix ½–1 teaspoon (1–2g) into a small amount of cold water to make a smooth paste, then top up with 150–250ml warm water and drink immediately. Use 1–3 times daily as needed.
For Sore Throat / Cough mix ½ teaspoon into warm water or herbal tea and sip slowly.
As a Thickener in Smoothies add ½–1 teaspoon directly into a smoothie — it will thicken and add a “slipperyˮ texture.

Test Reports
Here at NZProtein we always strive to be the best at what we do. We invest heavily in research and development to have innovative products and the best flavours.
We stand firmly behind our products so we have commenced periodic batch testing of products by independent third party laboratories. These test reports will provide further evidence of the standards we adhere to.
Please note that we will not be able to test every flavour due to the costs - there are simply too many flavours and various batches manufactured. For example, in the NZ Whey alone we have over 20 flavours, so it is not practicable to test every flavour in every batch but we will periodically submit samples in various flavours for analysis.
